So much to talk about...

Well, I'm finally HOME.  It's absolutely wonderful.
For starters, I left Marquette at 6:30 am yesterday morning.  Mike told me to check my oil before my long voyage... but it was dark out and cold...and...... I. just. didn't. want. to.   So... I didn't. =O Luckily I made it all 450 miles, with no problems.  Later last night he asked me if I checked my oil.  "I remembered to."  I did REMEMBER I just DIDN'T DO IT.  But he clearly informed me that it wasn't a wise decision... figuring I was risking the worth of my car if my engine died.  I was lucky with that one.

The drive was pretty CrApPy.  It decided to snow on-and-off along the way.  And rain. And drift. But I cannot complain for the two-lane roads had one lane that although it doesn't look like it in the picture--was safe to go 70 mph in.  And I am very thankful that the worst of the weather didn't occur until literally 3 minutes from pulling into home.

Anyone who does not have a GPS and plans on going on any long car rides alone should totally get one.  My mom bought me mine for Christmas and thank goodness because I am so completely directionally challenged, it's ridiculous.  My GPS was like my companion, it kept me up-to-date on when I'd be arriving at my destination, and talked to me every so often.

After getting home, that is when all the fun began.  After visiting with my mom, and showering and getting ready for the day I went over to my dad's house (which is literally a 30 second drive.) And for those who don't know my dad, he is quite the character.  He's very unpredictable, unreasonable, etc.  You'd just have to meet him.  Point being... this was the first time I met my dad's friend/pet bunny "Bugsy".  (Ironic about meeting my dad's pet bunny and Natalie just blogged about her past bunnies)  Bugsy isn't just your average bunny.  Nope, he or she would be if they lived at a different home.  But Paul's home isn't your average home.  Bugsy doesn't have a cage.  Instead he or she is allowed and encouraged to hop ALL AROUND THE HOUSE all day and all night long.  He/she goes from room to room, up the stairs, down the stairs, in the kitchen, bedroom, underneath the TV stand, behind the chair, wherever...

Yup, that means my dad totally lets Bugsy pee and poop all around the house. (SICK!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT MAN?!?!?!?!)  Luckily my dad put out a liter box for the bunny, but seriously.... still sick.  (Things like this make me very thankful that my parents are divorced.)

Funny thing about the bunny (might tragically turn to a sad thing in the future, though) My dad has a bowl of chocolate sitting on the floor and Bugsy hippity hops his/her way over to the bowl and helps themselves to an individually wrapped candy treat, whenever the mood strikes.  He/she then proceeds to gnaw on it until it eats through the wrapper.  I get a kick out of this; it’s like an Easter bunny.  Hopefully chocolate doesn't poision rabbits.
(Note the mess; yup that's my dad's house for ya. PS. this roaming rabbit is also a bad idea because rabbits like to chew, and look at all of those cords.)

After being in awe of my dad's friend, I went and hung out with Michael (after waiting patiently until 4:30 for him to get out of work.) We went to Adrian to my all time favorite restaurant of all time Fiesta Rancheras.  It was wonderful; I was like a starved animal as I engulfed my food.  And as we left the owner was sitting behind the cash register having another worker look through his head with a lice pick.... ummm... sick???!!!

After Fiesta we proceeded over to Walmart.  And Mike decided to buy me some flowers. =) Funny thing is we picked out the best condition out of the group of bouquets.  He decides to leave them with all the others until we were done shopping, so they could keep drinking.  He sets them in the midst of some roses so we knew which ones were ours.  And as I'm over at the blueberries/strawberries section (we decided to make smoothies) some girl on her cell phone moseys over there and PICKS UP THE FLOWERS WE HAD "OBVIOUSLY" CLAIMED and puts them in her cart. hahahaha. After debating whether to snatch them out of her cart we decided to do the right thing and pick out the second best flowers out of the bunch.  (BTW: this chick then went over to the blueberry/strawberry isle and picked out some berries.  It looks like me and her are much alike.)

(Look how pretty, bright and SPRINGY they are)

After that we went back to his grandparent's house, made and ate smoothies and just relaxed.

And here I am blogging, about to take a shower and get ready for Mike's Grandma and Grandpa's 50th anniversary party.  I can't wait! =)  & it's so encouraging to see a couple remain married and in love for so many years.

Life is good. God is good. =)

  1. hahahahha. what the fuck? wouldn't tin wrappers poison a rabbit, too?? and the cords- OH GOD! lol. My good rabbit, Violet, was litter trained, though. It was nice because when we let her hop around she'd hop on over to that littre box and poop. I totally want a rabbit now, after all this rabbit talk...?
