Oh, how que-tah!

Well it's wedding planning time because in 4 [hopefully] short months I will be Mrs. Michael G. Heinz!  With having a lot of down time at school I have been doing the artsy-craftsy stuff that I know I will be far too stressed overwhelmed when I come home and am planning the other stuff.

I found this idea on a party favors website and decided that I can do them cheaper... thus my roommate and myself have been doing 'arts and crafts' on our floor the past few days.  We hit up Micheal's Crafts store with our crew of friends all armed with 50% off ONE item PER customer coupons.  I saved a bunch of $$.  I didn't want to spend a ton of money nor make a boat load, so therefore I didn't buy 200 (# of guests) glass votives.  Instead, I purchased 48 candles, a few white/black tubes of acrylic paint, and 4 or 5 packs of sticky gems.

Aren't they snazzy?  I love them.  [[they do look better in person, especially the dress one]] So, with the 48 of them I plan to light them up and put 2 on each table (one wedding dress one and one tux one) and then scatter the left overs around maybe by the food etc.  THEN whoEVER wants to take one home can.

I also bought some napkins at Michael's.  "i do"  and with those 50% off per item per customer, me and my trusty crew napped these, making them practically buy-one-pack-get-another-pack-of-i-do-napkins-free.

With that said I also bought my wedding dress Saturday night.  I went dress shopping in downtown Marquette with some ladies and did the classic trying on rediculously expensive dresses, standing on the pedistal box and looking at the mirror while narrowing down the perfect dress.  Funny story, at the second wedding dress store we were at I come out of the dressing room and go, "Hey can someone tie up the back of this please?" My friends start laughing, for I didn't realize my butt cheeks are exposed through the bottom part of the lacing. I begin to crack up as I notice an emo chick lounging on the couch who has more than likely seen my booty in the oversized mirror.  It was pretty funny, maybe I should be embarrassed, but I'm not--at all.

Wedding dresses are EXPENSIVE.  The one I liked was on the medium end of the price spectrum ringing in at $803 [plus tax, plus altering fee, plus the anticipation of waiting 3 months to get the dress.] So the grand total would easily be $1,000---and com'on I'm only wearing it for one day.  I was trying to justify buying an expensive dress, brainstorming ways I could display it in my house or something...to make me not feel so bad about the expense.  I ebayed the designer of the dress I liked and "big" surprise I didn't find it.  Instead I mosied onto one of those China dress designer sights where you measure 7 different areas on yourself and send them the measurements and then they custom make your dress. Lets just say with 43 minutes left I put in a bid and won!  I got the dress for one hundred and sixty three dollars! And that includes shipping. That is 20.9% of the cost! I am such a bargain shopper, it is my favorite way to live.  My dress is very pretty and to top it off will be here in about 3 weeks, instead of 3 months! YES!

I'm not going to post a picture...something has to be a surprise for y'all.

29 days left until I am done with school and home.  It is going to fly by.  I'm trying to embrace it, while recognizing how much my life is going to change.  I am so pumped.
