I

went to church today with my mom and husband-to-be (in 5 days let me add).  Our pastor started a series about breaking free from people pleasing, something that far too many of us live for--making others happy.  Something he said, is something I put in the back of my [busy] mind and told myself that I need to think more about when I have a chance.
This isn't word for word but basically; Relationships shouldn't be measured by performance but instead acceptance.   Living your life to make other people happy, wanting others to accept you, trying to fit in aka altering who you are, always saying the right thing, evaluating every move you make and trying to always do better next time, and worrying too much about what people think about you... is destructive.

What people think about you is a little thing.  It really doesn't matter.
