Here's a little preview of our house. I'm just showing the stuff we have decorated with so far. There is more to come when we put more up... so stay tuned for a sequel blog.
THE LIVING ROOM:
My lily's wilted. We are eventually going to say 'Sianara' to the old people curtains that came with the pad.
Close up of our clock from Aunt Julie. I love the shelf. Grams bought it for me.
THE DINING ROOM:
Hangings.
THE BATHROOM:
Our towel holder. I love this thing. It's not cliche like the live-laugh-love stuff.
I didn't like the mirrors in themselves but knew they would look awesome in our new painted bathroom.
Tell me... how is it still 11:20 when it was 11:20 when I was in the living room taking pics? [See first pic.] I'm lightening quick.
We had to buy a shower head since they took theirs with them. I'm glad we picked white over stainless steal. Looks nice with the walls. ;)
My curtain is too short for the window. Hard to find a valance that matches the lace design. Considering centering the curtain to the window. Lace bathroom curtain is not ideal for keeping out peeping Toms. Don't get any ideas--sicko.
Got this at the dollar tree. I love it. So purtyyy.
THE HALL WAYS:
More to come in the hallways... haven't found the 'perfect' things to hang on the walls yet.
I love this. It is actually a card I got at a candy shoppe in Marquette with some girls in my hall, when we went wedding dress shopping. It reads: peace. It doesn't mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. I am going to put some more stuff in the old phone cubby. I'm think some fake flowers on each side of the frame. Who knows.
BEDROOM #1:
The main point of this picture is not to show the mismatching beadspread/pillows, but the picture on the wall. It reads: When one door closes, another door opens. I find that to stand for not only disappointing moments in life in general but how we didn't get the orignial house we wanted and then God opened the doors to a better home for us.
I was given 2 of these from Mike's old neighbor Jan. We went to her garage sale and she let me take them free of charge. I felt creative putting a rose and baby's breath in it.
THE LAUNDRY ROOM:
I got this funny old thing at GoodWill with Jennie. It was our first time going there together, and I will always remember that trip by being so proud that I wasn't the only one buying something!
THE KITCHEN:
$1 rummage sale. I made an offer on it.
Got the hook at GoodWill. Same trip with Jennie (seen in above caption) I like that it isn't one of those plastic hooks that stick on walls. The hand towel is from Walmart. I like the creativity and convience of it being on the side of the cupboard next to the sink.
Our $3 light fixture. Amazing bargain. From none other than the GoodWill ;P
Cooky banana hanger waiting for some nanners. GoodWill 50 cents.
Last but not least, the cookie jar in her element. Awaiting some cookies.
More to come.
I love that you love thrift shopping as much as I do! Excellent finds!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE everything! :) I can't wait to come see everything in person!!! And I might have some curtains you could hang in your bath room...they're lace, but you don't have any close neighbors so you might be able to get away with hanging them there :)
